Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on delivering high-quality dental services, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is preferred, along with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining accurate medical documentation and supporting both clinical and administrative functions within the dental clinic. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms for patient procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met Assist dentists chairside during various dental procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging as needed, including 3D scans when applicable Record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration before procedures Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while maintaining HIPAA compliance Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions using appropriate dental terminology Assist with medical documentation and coding for insurance claims and recordkeeping purposes Support reception duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient clinic operations through four-handed dentistry techniques Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry Experience performing X-ray procedures and using medical imaging equipment including 3D scanners preferred Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment Ability to assist with various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and documentation Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members Certification or training in chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, or related fields is desirable This position offers an engaging work environment where your skills contribute directly to patient health outcomes.
