FQHC Dental Assistant Be the First to Apply Job Description As a FQHC Dental Assistant, you will be an integral part of our dental care team, working closely with licensed dentists to provide exceptional patient care. Your role involves assisting with various dental procedures, taking X-rays, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will ensure a smooth patient experience by managing appointments and maintaining a well-organized operatory. Your responsibilities also include sterilization, inventory control, and providing guidance to patients and new staff members. Responsibilities Assist dentists during patient care and procedures. Take X-rays and maintain detailed patient records. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently. Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean operatory. Manage inventory of dental supplies and materials. Prepare the operatory for treatments as per protocols. Provide basic guidance and support to patients. Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials. Collaborate with the dental team and promote workplace safety. Mentor and teach new staff, students, and interns about dental protocols. Qualifications Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification, or unregistered assistant with X-ray certification. Experience as a dental assistant, with a preference for FQHC settings. Strong knowledge of dental procedures and patient care practices. Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction. Ability to work collaboratively and mentor others in a team environment. Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and patient care. Familiarity with dental software and record-keeping systems. Basic understanding of dental instrument sterilization techniques. Willingness to stay updated with advancements in the dental industry. A passion for providing quality dental care and patient satisfaction.
