Job Description

Dental Assistant (Part-Time - Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays) Cedar Smiles Dental Join our dynamic dental team at Cedar Smiles Dental and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. In this energetic and fast-paced position, you will support the dentist by preparing treatment areas, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit. This is a part-time position (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays) offering a balanced schedule with a one-hour lunch break and weekends off. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly Assist chairside during procedures including restorations, endodontic treatments, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Perform four-handed dentistry to optimize efficiency and patient comfort Take dental X-rays (Radiology License required) while adhering to strict infection control protocols Operate advanced dental technology including: 3D scanners CBCT imaging Digital radiography systems Record and manage patient medical histories, treatment plans, and clinical notes using Open Dental software Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Take vital signs (blood pressure, pulse) as needed Educate patients by explaining procedures and answering questions Support administrative tasks when needed, including scheduling and insurance verification Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment following proper aseptic and infection control standards Assist with general office demands as needed Requirements Previous dental assisting experience is required Radiology license required Experience taking dental X-rays Proficiency with Open Dental software Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices Familiarity with general dentistry procedures (endo experience is a plus) Ability to perform vital signs assessments accurately Professional, punctual, and detail-oriented Strong communication and teamwork skills Certification in dental assisting or related field is preferred. Additional training or experience in endodontics, prosthodontics, or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
