Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed. Manage patient records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, including updating medical histories, treatment notes, and medical documentation. Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure a positive experience. Support front desk operations by acting as a dental receptionist when needed, scheduling appointments, and managing patient communication. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to accurately document procedures and assist with medical records management. Requirements Valid license or certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent in the respective region. Proven experience working in a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry setting with familiarity in dental assisting procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in four-handed dentistry setups while maintaining high standards of patient care. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Experience with X-ray imaging techniques and 3D scanners is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics.
