In this vital role, you'll combine clinical assistance with front desk responsibilities, ensuring exceptional patient service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. Your expertise in medical billing, electronic health records (EHR) management, and clinic experience will be instrumental in delivering top-quality care and administrative support. Duties Greet patients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency Assist dental practitioners during procedures, including preparing treatment rooms and handling dental instruments with precision Maintain accurate documentation review, including care plans, medical records, and clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, ensuring data accuracy and security Perform medical coding using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards for billing and insurance claims processing Handle medical billing and collections using knowledge of health insurance plans like Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers to optimize revenue flow Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, schedule appointments, respond to patient inquiries, and provide outstanding customer service Experience Proven clinic experience working in a dental or medical office environment with a strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms; experience with Microsoft Office suite is a plus Knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards, and Medicare guidelines for accurate documentation review and claim submission Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong clerical skills including typing (10-key), data entry, document management, and maintaining organized medical records Excellent patient service skills combined with front desk management experience to ensure a positive patient experience from check-in to checkout Familiarity with healthcare compliance policies such as HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies to uphold patient privacy standards Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate care while supporting the administrative backbone of our practice.
