The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) specializing in orthodontics performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) works in conjunction with the Orthodontist making patients feel as comfortable as possible, prepare them for treatment, obtain their dental records and instruct patients on post-operative and general oral health care. This is a part time position, one day per week on Tuesdays Role and Responsibilities Perform a variety of orthodontic treatment procedures under the direct supervision of the Orthodontist Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment Take, develop and mount dental radiographs (x-rays) Manage infection control - prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment Adhere to all OSHA and safety policies and procedures Provide patients with instructions for oral care following all orthodontic treatment procedures Educate patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health while undergoing orthodontic treatment Perform various office tasks as necessary All other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor Qualifications and Education Requirements RDA License is required Dental assisting experience in orthodontics is a plus X-Ray License Denticon experience preferred, but not required.
