Responsibilities:
Your role as a Consulting Dental Assistant will be twofold. On the clinical side, you will: 1. Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures. 2. Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays). 3. Ask about the patient's medical history and take blood pressure and pulse. 4. Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment. 5. Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment. 6. Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling). 7. Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
Qualifications:
1. Dental Assistant certification, where required by state law. 2. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. 3. Demonstrated knowledge of dental procedures and terminology. 4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient care. 5. Experience with dental practice management software. 6. A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Excel. 9. Familiarity with financial software systems. 10. Knowledge of dental insurance billing and coding.
