Exceptional Dentistry is a privately owned, fee-for-service dental practice in Summerlin. We provide comprehensive, cosmetic, restorative, and advanced dental care with a strong emphasis on quality, technology, attention to detail, and an exceptional patient experience. We're looking for an experienced dental assistant who wants to do more than simply pass instruments. We want someone who takes ownership of their role, enjoys learning, becomes highly skilled at what they do, and wants to be an important part of a high-performing clinical team. Our practice isn't built around rushing as many patients through the office as possible. We care about doing things well. That includes excellent clinical dentistry, thoughtful preparation, beautiful temporaries, accurate records, organized operatories, smooth digital workflows, and making sure patients feel genuinely cared for throughout their visit. Our assistants play an important role in making that happen. If you enjoy comprehensive dentistry, technology, learning new skills, and becoming exceptional at your craft, this position offers a lot of room to grow. What you'll do You'll work closely with our doctors across a wide variety of procedures and help keep the clinical day organized, efficient, and patient-centered.
Your responsibilities will include:
Four-handed chairside assisting Preparing operatories before procedures Anticipating the doctor's clinical needs Taking intraoral photographs, taking high-quality radiographs, digital scanning, and other diagnostic records Fabricating and adjusting temporary crowns, bridges, and restorations Assisting with restorative and cosmetic procedures Assisting with crowns, veneers, bridges, and comprehensive restorative cases Assisting with endodontic and surgical procedures Supporting digital dentistry and CAD/CAM workflows Supporting 3D-printing workflows Managing laboratory cases and communication Maintaining accurate clinical documentation Reviewing relevant patient information before treatment Sterilization and infection-control responsibilities Maintaining organized operatories and clinical areas Monitoring clinical supplies and communicating when items need attention Providing excellent patient care before, during, and after treatment Helping the clinical team stay ahead of the schedule rather than reacting to it What success looks like here Success looks like: The operatory is completely prepared before the patient is seated. You know what procedure is being performed and what will likely be needed. The doctor rarely has to stop treatment because something was forgotten. Your temporaries look and feel like something you're proud to deliver. Diagnostic records are accurate and clinically useful. Patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for. Lab cases and digital workflows don't fall through the cracks. Instruments, materials, and equipment are organized and ready. You notice potential problems before they become problems. When you say you'll handle something, the team knows it will get done. You continue becoming more capable as your experience grows. The goal isn't perfection. It's ownership, preparation, attention to detail, and continuous improvement. You'll probably thrive here if you... Take genuine pride in being an excellent dental assistant. Naturally think one or two steps ahead. Are dependable and punctual. Pay attention to details other people sometimes miss. Enjoy learning new techniques and technology. Like working with doctors who perform comprehensive dentistry and specialty procedures. Are comfortable with high clinical standards. Take constructive feedback well and use it to improve. Stay calm and organized when a day becomes complicated. Communicate well with both patients and teammates. Care about the quality of your work. Prefer taking ownership rather than waiting to be told every next step. Want to become more valuable and capable over time. This probably isn't the right position if... This environment may not be the best fit if you: Prefer to wait for instructions before taking routine action. Don't enjoy receiving feedback or learning new techniques. Are satisfied with "good enough" when something could reasonably be done better. Prefer assisting to remain limited strictly to passing instruments and turning over rooms. Regularly leave unfinished tasks for someone else to discover. Feel that helping outside your immediate assignment is automatically "not my job." We believe high standards and a supportive workplace can coexist. We don't expect perfection. We do expect reliability, communication, ownership, professionalism, and a genuine desire to improve. Experience Required Minimum 2 years of chairside dental assisting experience Strong understanding of general dental procedures and terminology Ability to take high-quality diagnostic radiographs Strong chairside assisting skills Excellent communication and patient-care skills Strong organization and attention to detail Highly preferred Experience with any of the following is a major plus: Dentrix CAD/CAM dentistry Digital scanning 3D printing Digital dental photography Cosmetic and restorative dentistry Veneer and larger restorative cases Implant and surgical procedures Laboratory workflows Fabricating excellent temporary crowns, bridges, and provisionals You do not need to already know every technology or workflow we use. A strong clinical foundation, excellent attitude, attention to detail, and ability to learn are more important than checking every box. Technology & digital dentistry We believe assistants should have the opportunity to develop skills beyond traditional chairside assisting. Our practice incorporates digital scanning, CAD/CAM dentistry, 3D printing, CBCT imaging, digital photography, and other modern clinical workflows. If you enjoy technology—or want to become much better with it—we want to help you develop those skills. We invest in our team Professional development is important to us. While this position does not have a standing individual CE reimbursement allowance, we actively invest in education and training for our team.
That may include:
Team continuing-education courses Hands-on clinical training Technology and digital-workflow training Courses related to comprehensive and cosmetic dentistry Practice-sponsored educational opportunities Training designed to expand your clinical skills and responsibilities We don't want someone to remain exactly the same assistant they were when they joined us. If you're motivated to grow, we want to provide opportunities to do that.
