The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, oral surgery, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. The position is compensated according to experience, dental knowledge and skill level and is a 4 day work week. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry and oral surgery. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take dental radiographs (X-ray) using digital imaging systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems and maintain detailed medical documentation. Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, medical history updates, and providing patient education on oral health care. Ensure the proper functioning of dental equipment, including 3D scanners, dental sterilization procedures, and other clinical tools. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and facilitating effective communication between patients and staff. Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination during procedures. Skills Proficiency in using dental practice management software such as Dentrix, Open Dental or Eaglesoft. Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques and medical imaging technology for accurate diagnosis support. Strong understanding of infection prevention management practices within a healthcare setting. Ability to perform comprehensive chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages. Experience working in a fast-paced dental clinic environment with an emphasis on clinical confidentiality policies.
