Job Description

Busy Periodontal & Implant Surgery dental practice is looking for a dental assistant to join our team and provide excellent customer service to our patients. Our recently renovated office is beautiful and modern and equipped with all of the latest technology. We are seeking a motivated, caring and reliable individual to join our practice. Applicants must have at least 1 year of experience working as a dental assistant. This is not negotiable so if you do not have at least a year of experience, please do not reply to this ad. Applicants that have experience working as a dental assistant in an office that specializes in dental surgery will be more strongly considered and the starting pay for this type of applicant will be considerably higher. We are looking for someone with strong organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Dentrix and Dexis is preferred. Applicants willing and able to work at the front desk when necessary will be more strongly considered as well. (Especially those individuals that have previous experience working at the front desk) We are looking for someone to work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (9:00am-6:00pm) and Friday (8:00am-2:00pm) If you are a hard-working, organized individual looking for a great opportunity to work in a fun, friendly, and positive environment please send us your resume.
Responsibilities:
Assist one of our 4 surgeons during a variety of treatment procedures. Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed Sterilize instruments according to OSHA regulations Take dental x-rays (Dexis Experience Preferred) Take Panoramic radiographs as well as CT scans Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry Provide post-operative care instructions Keep the dental treatment rooms clean and well-stocked Help the front desk with phone calls and scheduling when indicated The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes: Knowledge of dental terminology Some previous experience as a dental assistant (At least 1 year of previous experience) Understanding of infection control procedures Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of health and safety regulations Good computer skills Excellent communication and people skills Attention to detail Well-organized and reliable This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and exciting dental surgical practice where you will be providing valuable support to both the dentist and patients in a fun and friendly environment.
