Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and dental office operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists in delivering high-quality dental treatments, ensure smooth clinic workflows, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are readily available for scheduled procedures. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including digital imaging and 3D scans, adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft Perform chairside assisting duties with proficiency in dental terminology, instrument processing, and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive measures to promote overall oral health. Maintain infection prevention protocols by adhering to dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control standards. • Requirements Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting; experience in general dentistry is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing medical records and patient information. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies. Familiarity with dental radiography techniques including X-ray procedures and digital imaging technology. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical assisting procedures such as four-handed dentistry. Experience with infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages, especially within pediatric dentistry or oral surgery contexts. Certification in Dental Assisting from an accredited program is highly desirable; additional training in medical terminology or healthcare infection control is advantageous. $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
