Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will support the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of daily clinical activities. Responsibilities Assist the dentist with various procedures in general dentistry, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures by handling instruments, managing suction devices, and assisting with medical imaging such as X-rays. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Open Dental, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Take vital signs and document medical history to support comprehensive patient assessments. Support administrative tasks including dental receptionist duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Ensure all clinical areas are maintained in a clean, organized manner following infection control standards and anatomy knowledge to assist effectively during procedures. Qualifications Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially within general dentistry. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Open Dental is essential. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is required. Experience with dental radiography including X-ray procedures. Understanding of medical coding and documentation standards ensures precise record-keeping aligned with HIPAA regulations. Excellent communication skills are vital for interacting effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals. $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
