Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and supporting comprehensive dental procedures. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, maintaining high standards of infection control, and providing compassionate support to patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental terminology, medical documentation, and chairside assisting will contribute to a positive and efficient patient experience. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques. Take and develop digital dental X-rays while adhering to strict safety protocols and infection control standards. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) system Provide chairside assistance by handling dental instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care and complete consent forms. Support the dental team by updating medical records, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain a clean and sterile environment following aseptic techniques and infection control guidelines to ensure patient safety. Stay current with our training advancements in dental technology, including scanners and other imaging tools used in diagnostics and treatment planning. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and pediatric dentistry preferred. Proficiency in dental software systems or similar medical documentation platforms is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging devices safely and effectively. Excellent knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental practice. Experience with chairside assisting during complex procedures is highly desirable. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
