Job Description

ProHEALTH Dental (Where Oral Health Meets Overall Health) is a leading dental group in the New York Metropolitan Area. We are not like one of the many dental service organizations (DSOs). Instead, we are strategic partners with medical groups and healthcare organizations that understand the importance of oral health and want to add dentistry as an important service offering. Our state-of-the-art dental practices have all specialties under one roof to provide convenience and better continuity of care to patients. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide professional and quality customer service to all patients. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality of protected health information. Greet and seat patient in operatory room. Perform fourhanded dentistry and suction for dentist. Cleans, stock and maintain operatory room including dental chairs, filters, and all other systems to ensure they are prepared and ready to be utilized. Follow proper procedures in the disposal of sharps and hazardous waste and practice Standard precautions in accordance with CDC and NYSDOH requirements. Take, develop and process x-rays. Pour up alginate impressions, log and track outgoing and incoming lab cases. Post completed procedures in patient's ledger. Pre-wash and check instruments for sharp and waste before sterilization. Ensure all current consent forms are available for doctor's review. Check for a signed treatment plan before treatment is started. Inform doctor if treatment being performed is different than original treatment plan or additional treatment is going to be performed. Monitor supplies and equipment and report problems to the practice manager in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Dental experience is preferred. General education degree or high school diploma Knowledge of Dentrix and other relevant software applications Understanding of health & safety regulations Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods Understanding of standard practices, procedures and dental terminology
CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, OR LICENSURE REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB
Dental Assistant Certification is preferred (e.g. DANB - Dental Assisting National Board)
