Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting clinical operations and ensuring a smooth, efficient workflow throughout the day. Our office is a high-volume, fast-paced practice , so the ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking, staying organized, and assisting providers efficiently while maintaining a positive patient experience. You will work closely with dentists, hygienists, and front desk staff to deliver high-quality care in a professional and welcoming environment. We welcome both experienced assistants and entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and grow within our practice. A working interview will be part of the hiring process. For the entry-level candidates, they must demonstrate strong learning ability and the capacity to absorb training and follow through effectively. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of clinical procedures Prepare and break down treatment rooms before and after patients Ensure all instruments are properly sterilized and organized in accordance with infection control protocols Take digital X-rays while following safety guidelines Maintain accurate patient records using EMR systems (e.g., Dentrix Ascend) Anticipate provider needs to ensure efficient and productive appointments Provide chairside support while maintaining patient comfort and reassurance Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene instructions Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed Help maintain a smooth daily schedule and positive patient flow Requirements Dental Assistant experience is preferred, but not required — willing to train the right candidate X-ray certification in NY is a plus (not required) Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix Ascend or similar) is a plus Basic knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is helpful Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Willingness to learn, take direction, and adapt throughout the day Ability to stay efficient, focused, and detail-oriented under pressure
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
