Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a dental clinic environment, demonstrating proficiency in various dental assisting tasks. This role involves supporting the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. A strong understanding of dental terminology and practices is essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including patient history and treatment plans. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling. Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging as needed. Support pediatric dentistry by providing compassionate care to young patients. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality. Collaborate with the dental receptionist to manage appointments and patient flow effectively. Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred. Proficiency in using dental software such as Oryx Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry is preferred. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatric settings.
