Duties Assist dentists during various procedures such as restorative, endodontic, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including dental x-ray imaging and 3D scans, while adhering to safety protocols and radiation exposure guidelines. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software; ensure accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Provide patient management support by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Requirements Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure with demonstrated experience in general dentistry or specialized fields such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery. Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, dental instrument processing, and aseptic technique. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience working with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely and accurately while maintaining strict adherence to infection prevention policies. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals. Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control practices along with proficiency in medical imaging techniques.
