Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Endodontic Dental Assistant to join our specialized dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in endodontic procedures, dental assisting, and patient care, with a commitment to maintaining clinical excellence and patient comfort. As an Endodontic Dental Assistant, you will support endodontists in delivering precise, efficient root canal treatments and other related procedures while adhering to strict infection control protocols and ensuring a seamless patient experience. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment focused on advanced dental care. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate dental instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment for endodontic procedures, including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools. Assist the endodontist during procedures by managing dental instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort through chairside assistance. Take and develop dental x-rays, including vital signs and medical imaging, while adhering to infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in EMR systems - Denticon, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Educate patients about endodontic procedures, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance to promote patient management and engagement. Process dental instruments following sterilization procedures, ensuring all equipment meets infection control standards for general dentistry and oral surgery. Manage patient flow efficiently by coordinating appointments, updating medical records, and providing excellent customer service as a dental receptionist when needed. Support infection prevention policies through meticulous adherence to healthcare infection control standards and proper handling of dental equipment. Assist with other clinical tasks such as taking impressions for prosthodontics or assisting in pediatric dentistry cases when required. Experience Proven experience working as a dental assistant within an endodontic or general dentistry practice is preferred. Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, dental terminology, and anatomy knowledge related to oral structures. Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, record-keeping, and patient management. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Experience operating dental equipment including 3D scanners, X-ray machines, and other medical imaging tools is highly desirable. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control expertise along with medical documentation standards. Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism in a fast-paced clinical setting focused on endodontics or related specialties such as prosthodontics or oral surgery.
Pay:
$25.00 - $31.75 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 per week
