In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to creating a welcoming environment that promotes oral health and patient satisfaction. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring sterilization procedures are meticulously followed. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners and dental x-ray machines while adhering to HIPAA and infection prevention policies. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and offering post-treatment instructions in a compassionate manner. Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize workflow efficiency and patient comfort. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental terminology. Experience with dental equipment operation such as X-ray units, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools. Strong knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including medical coding and medical records management. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and the unique needs of pediatric patients. Ability to operate patient management software effectively while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients as a dental receptionist when needed and explain treatment plans clearly. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with proficiency in medical terminology related to oral health care.
