Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our dental team. In this role, you will support orthodontic procedures, assist with patient care, and ensure the smooth operation of the orthodontic practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of orthodontic treatments, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient experiences. A valid X-ray certification is required for this position. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during patient examinations and procedures, including placing and removing braces, bands, and other orthodontic appliances. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with safety protocols and certification requirements. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Educate patients on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene practices. Record detailed patient information and treatment notes accurately in electronic health records. Provide chairside assistance during adjustments, repairs, and other orthodontic procedures. Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control protocols at all times. Maintain a professional, welcoming environment for patients of all ages receiving orthodontic care. Qualifications Valid X-ray certification is required. Prior experience as a dental assistant, specifically in an orthodontic setting, is preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances, and terminology is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients effectively. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
