Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while adhering to infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and HIPAA standards. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including medical imaging and vital signs. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions. Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out processes, and assist with dental receptionist duties as needed. Utilize Dentrix for efficient patient management. Support pediatric dentistry procedures with knowledge of child behavior management techniques. Assist in various dental specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics as required. Experience Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with familiarity in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge. Proficiency in using 3D scanners and medical coding/documentation systems is advantageous. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control practices is essential for maintaining a safe environment for both patients and staff. Experience with Dentrix or similar EMR systems is a plus, along with an understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry.
