Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our dental practice. This vital role combines clinical assistance, patient management, and infection control to ensure a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. As an RDA, you will work closely with dentists and hygienists to provide comprehensive dental services while maintaining the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and infection prevention. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including dental x-ray imaging and 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting duties with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow efficiency. Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation when necessary for patient health assessments. Support patient care by managing appointment scheduling, greeting patients as a dental receptionist, and providing clear instructions on pre- and post-treatment care. Adhere to clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical records. Maintain dental equipment through proper cleaning, sterilization procedures, and aseptic technique to uphold healthcare infection prevention standards. Assist with patient management software to track treatment plans, appointments, and follow-up care efficiently. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms for accurate record keeping. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and healthcare infection prevention expertise. Skilled in dental x-ray techniques including intraoral imaging and 3D scanner operation for comprehensive diagnostics. Familiarity with dental equipment operation such as dental chairs, handpieces, curing lights, and other clinical tools. Ability to perform oral surgery assistance and endodontic procedures confidently within a general dentistry setting. Excellent patient management skills combined with effective communication abilities to create a positive experience for patients of all ages—especially in pediatric dentistry contexts. Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA standards for safeguarding patient information. Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance productivity.
