Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery treatments using chairside assisting techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment such as dental x-ray machines and 3D scanners, and ensuring all tools meet infection prevention standards. Take digital dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy. Follow infection control procedures including dental sterilization protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote ongoing dental wellness. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy. Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, Cerec crown mill, and other clinical tools. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft for accurate documentation of medical records and treatment plans. (will train on-the-job) Strong understanding of infection prevention management, including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while maintaining clinical hygiene standards. Excellent communication skills for patient management, explaining procedures clearly and compassionately.
