Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, , prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, managing patient comfort, taking vital signs, and addressing concerns with empathy. Maintain infection prevention standards through proper sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection control practices aligned with healthcare guidelines. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed to ensure seamless clinic operations. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental sterilization procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical imaging practices is essential for accurate record keeping. Knowledge of dental equipment such as X-ray machines, and other clinical tools enhances your ability to support diverse procedures effectively. Demonstrated understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control standards ensures safety for both patients and staff. Experience using patient management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft will facilitate efficient workflow management. Strong communication skills combined with anatomy knowledge and medical terminology familiarity enable clear explanations to patients of all ages.
