This is a flexible, all-around support position that plays an important role in providing excellent patient care while assisting across multiple areas of the practice. This role includes chairside assisting, occasional OR backup responsibilities as well as supporting hygiene and front desk operations as needed to ensure smooth daily workflow. The ideal candidate enjoys variety, teamwork, and working with children in a supportive pediatric environment. Cross-training is provided, and there is opportunity for professional growth within the practice. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures using chairside and four-handed assisting techniques Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control and safety protocols Take dental X-rays and assist with imaging as trained Support hygiene operations as needed, including room turnover and patient assistance Help manage patient flow by greeting patients and families and ensuring a smooth clinic experience Assist with front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate documentation Update medical histories and charting in the dental software system Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care in a child-friendly manner Work collaboratively with the team and assist in multiple areas to support daily operations Qualifications Prior dental assisting experience preferred Pediatric dental experience is a plus Comfortable supporting multiple roles, including clinical, hygiene, and front desk assistance Basic knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety standards Strong communication skills and a calm, positive demeanor with children and families Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented mindset
