Job Description
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Dental Assistant 3 provides clerical and clinical duties in the Dental Clinic, is certified in multiple expanded functions, and supports dentists in providing dental services per the regulations set by the Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry. Patient education expert on proper oral hygiene techniques, postoperative care, and overall oral health. Ensure all dental staff adhere to infectious control protocols when assisting the dentist during procedures, ensuring instruments, equipment, and materials are prepared and set up. Take dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring patient safety and keeping abreast of latest techniques through continuing education. Provide thorough pediatric and adult cleanings, applying dental materials including sealants and fluoride treatments during cleanings, performing supragingival scaling, placing alloy and composite restorations, utilizing expanded function certification. Serve as a mentor, trainer and provide feedback to Dental Assistant 1 and 2 Sterilize and disinfect instruments, prepare trays for procedures and cleanings, and maintain dental equipment's functionality.Handle administrative tasks:
scheduling, confirming appointments, managing patient records confidentiality, and overseeing dental supplies inventory to ensure continuity of care for CNHSA patients, specifically pediatric populations. Collaborate with Dental Office Manager at all clinics to improve patient care and enhance staff efficiency. Complete tasks as assigned to Dental Assistant Level 1 and 2. Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:
