Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Burns OR Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will assist with a variety of dental procedures in both general and specialized dentistry settings, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure a smooth workflow, exceptional infection control, and a positive patient experience. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained at all times Assist dentists during complex procedures such as surgeries, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support using four-handed dentistry techniques Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Epic, documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support the dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by adhering to infection control procedures and sterilization protocols Requirements Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical documentation and records management Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; certification in pediatric or sedation dentistry is a plus Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes in accordance with OSHA guidelines Join us to make a difference in patients' lives through compassionate care and technical excellence.
