Job Overview We are excited to offer a dynamic Lead Dental Assisting opportunity tailored for foreign-trained dentists seeking to expand their expertise and leadership in a thriving dental practice. This role is designed for motivated professionals eager to leverage their clinical background while stepping into a leadership position that emphasizes patient care, team coordination, and operational excellence. As a Lead Dental Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, delivering exceptional patient experiences, and supporting the clinical team with your comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures and infection control protocols. This paid position provides an excellent pathway for foreign-trained dentists to gain valuable U.S. dental assisting experience while advancing their career in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily dental assisting operations, ensuring adherence to clinical confidentiality policies and infection prevention management standards Assist the dental team during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring accurate medical documentation using patient management software such as OpenDental Take and interpret dental x-rays and 3D scans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Educate patients on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive practices to promote optimal patient care outcomes Supervise and mentor junior staff members, including dental receptionists and assisting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on quality care Skills Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems), particularly OpenDental Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and oral surgery support Expertise in infection control practices including sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention and control standards Familiarity with dental equipment operation such as 3D scanners, dental chairs, handpieces, and other clinical tools Ability to perform vital signs assessment and basic patient management tasks effectively Excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients, team members, and external healthcare providers
Schedule:
Mon 10-7PM, Tues-Thurs. 9-5PM (4 Days per week)
Compensation:
