Full-Time About the Position Nova Dental is looking for a skilled and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing team in Harrisburg. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a patient-focused approach. As an EFDA, you will work closely with our dentists and clinical team to provide high-quality patient care while supporting efficient day-to-day dental operations. Key Responsibilities Assist dentists during restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and other dental procedures. Perform expanded functions within the scope permitted by Pennsylvania regulations and applicable certifications. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures. Take and process dental X-rays as permitted by certification and state regulations. Assist with temporary restorations, impressions, and other EFDA-related clinical duties. Maintain proper infection-control and sterilization standards. Provide patients with clear instructions regarding treatment and post-operative care. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and treatment notes. Ensure treatment rooms and clinical areas are properly stocked and organized. Support the dental team in maintaining an efficient patient flow. Deliver a positive, professional, and compassionate patient experience. Qualifications Current EFDA certification/credentials required as applicable in Pennsylvania. Previous dental assisting experience preferred. Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, materials, and infection-control protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and front-desk staff. Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy dental practice. Professional, dependable, and patient-focused attitude.
