Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of medical documentation. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient care. Maintain dental equipment and sterilization procedures in accordance with infection control standards and aseptic techniques. Greet patients as a dental receptionist, manage appointment scheduling through patient management software, and ensure excellent patient management throughout their visit. Skills Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems for managing medical records and scheduling. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry disciplines including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with dental x-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanner operation for accurate diagnosis. Familiarity with infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control expertise to uphold clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to strict sterilization standards. Excellent communication skills for patient care coordination as well as collaborating effectively with the dental team. Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and healthcare to ensure precise documentation and understanding of clinical notes.
