Dental Front Desk Receptionist And Dental Assistant
Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Dental Front Desk Receptionist / Dental Assistant to join our dental team. This dual-role position offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while working at the front office 3 days a week. You will be the friendly face patients see first, ensuring their experience is positive from check-in to check-out, while also supporting clinical procedures with professionalism and precision. Your energy, organizational skills, and dental knowledge will help create a welcoming environment that promotes patient trust and confidence. We are looking for someone who is able to multi-task and has the ability to remain calm under pressure. Most importantly someone who can communicate well and treats others with kindness and compassion.
Schedule:
(there is some flexibility with the hours and days but you must be able to work Saturdays .)
Mondays:
Work 4 hours as a dental assistant and the rest as front deskt support. (7 AM-4:30 PM)
Tuesdays:
Work in the morning as an assistant and afternoons work at the front desk. (7AM -5:30 PM)
Wednesdays:
Front Desk (7:45 AM-12:30 PM)
Thursdays:
Front Desk (7:15 AM-3:45 PM)
Saturdays:
Front Desk (7:45AM- 12:30 PM)
•(1 saturday off each month for the 1st saturday of each month.) Duties Greet patients warmly, verify appointments, and manage patient check-in/check-out processes using patient management software. Schedule appointments efficiently, confirm upcoming visits, and handle rescheduling as needed to optimize clinic flow. Collect and update patient medical histories, vital signs, and insurance information while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist dentists during procedures by preparing dental instruments, sterilizing equipment according to infection prevention management protocols, and ensuring all clinical supplies are stocked. Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners with precision and care. Provide chairside assisting during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in dentrix. Support infection prevention efforts by following aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures diligently while processing dental instruments. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and treatment plans to enhance their understanding of dental health. Requirements Proven experience in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and clinical procedures. Proficiency with Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff. Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and team collaboration. Knowledge of dental anatomy, medical terminology, and various dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in dental assisting or relevant clinical training is preferred; experience with four-handed dentistry is a plus.
About the office:
We are a small family owned third generation dental office. We have two dentists at the practice and we work to provide gental and compassionate care to our patients. Pay:
$19.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 40.0 per week
