Job Summary Looking for an experienced Lead Dental Assistant (X-ray Certified), where your skills will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our team of dental professionals. Your expertise in dental radiography and patient management will help us provide comprehensive general dentistry services, including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following strict infection prevention management procedures. Take high-quality dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort in compliance with dental x-ray safety protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently. Manage patient flow by updating medical records using patient management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft while ensuring adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Monitor vital signs and assess patient readiness before procedures to promote optimal care. Educate patients on dental terminology, oral health practices, and post-treatment care to enhance their understanding and satisfaction. Maintain clinical cleanliness by processing dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning properly. Support front desk operations as needed by handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing EMR systems to streamline clinic workflows. Qualifications Valid X-ray certification with demonstrated experience in taking diagnostic dental radiographs. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as for medical documentation and records management. Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various treatments including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively while maintaining professionalism under clinical confidentiality policies.
