Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional oral healthcare! Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared and sterilized according to infection control protocols. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while adhering to Aseptic technique and safety standards. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper patient positioning and image quality for accurate diagnosis. Manage patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality. Support patients by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical documentation and medical coding when necessary. Maintain a clean and organized dental clinic environment, following infection control guidelines to ensure safety for both patients and staff. Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry practices to enhance efficiency during chairside assisting sessions. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Dentrix for managing medical records and documentation. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and operating X-ray equipment. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children to create a comfortable experience. Ability to perform medical imaging procedures accurately using 3D scanners and traditional radiography equipment. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards related to dental care. Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant to coordinate appointments and patient flow effectively.
