Job Description

O'Neill Family Dentistry is looking for a fulltime Certified Dental Assistant. We have a wonderful, small practice and our assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining hygiene and safety in our office. This role requires a combination of technical skills in sterilization procedures and soft skills in patient care, making it an essential position in maintaining the safety and efficiency of dental practices. Our office works Monday thru Thursday.
Their primary responsibilities include:
  • Instrument sterilization: Cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment using autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and other sterilization devices
  • Infection control: Adhering to standard protocols for infection control, including wearing personal protective equipment and maintaining a sterile environment
  • Inventory management: Restocking supplies, maintaining inventory, and ordering clinical materials as needed
  • Equipment maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on dental equipment, including sterilization devices, and documenting sterilization records
  • Patient care support: Escorting patients to treatment rooms, preparing them for procedures, and assisting dentists and hygienists during treatments
  • Treatment room preparation: Cleaning and setting up treatment rooms for scheduled procedures
  • Administrative tasks: Recording treatment information on patient charts, assisting with scheduling, and performing other clerical duties as needed
  • Safety compliance: Maintaining
OSHA/WISHA
standards, following HIPAA guidelines, and managing biohazardous waste disposal Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dental Assistant License required
  • BLS certification
  • Nitrous certification required
  • Xray certification
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, squatting, and standing for extended periods
Pay:
$20.00 - $29.00 per hour Expected hours: 32.0 per week
