Dental Assistant Position Summary Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Healthcare Center (IHS)

Location:
Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Healthcare Center, 100 Lake Traverse Drive, Sisseton, SD 57262
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; No weekends, no call, closed on Federal holidays. Assignments generally one-month blocks but may include 2-week rotations. Position Summary Provide full-scope clinical and administrative support to the Dental Clinic by assisting dentists, supporting patient care, maintaining infection control, completing documentation, and augmenting federal staff during shortages. Primary Duties
  • Patient check-in, rooming, and vital signs
  • Chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry
  • Prepare and break down operatories
  • Take dental radiographs
  • Sterilize and reprocess instruments
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative education
  • Schedule appointments and maintain patient records
  • Complete accurate documentation and coding
  • Comply with HIPAA, infection control, and clinic policies
  • Participate in peer reviews and quality improvement Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
  • Licensed/Registered Dental Assistant preferred
  • If unlicensed: minimum 5 years dental assisting experience and current dental radiographer license required Required Certifications
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Dental Radiographer License (if applicable)
  • Maintain all required state licensure/registrations

Pay:
$35/hr taxable + $1,246 weekly travel untaxed
