General Dentistry and Oral Surgery Dental Assistants Morton Dental Group is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant who is confident supporting comprehensive general dentistry and interested in working alongside doctors performing surgical and advanced procedures. This is not an oral-surgery-only position. Our Dental Assistants support a broad range of patient care, including restorative, crown and bridge, cosmetic, implant, and surgical procedures. Candidates with hands-on oral surgery, implant, or complex-procedure experience will be strongly preferred. Why You'll Love Working With Us Exposure to a broad range of general, surgical, implant, and specialty procedures Modern offices with advanced dental technology and digital workflows Opportunities to expand your clinical skills and knowledge Supportive doctors and leaders who invest in coaching and development Consistent full-time schedule with no nights or weekends A professional, team-oriented working environment Competitive pay based on experience, certifications, and clinical skill level A workplace where strong performance and initiative are recognized What You'll Do Provide high-quality chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry Support restorative, crown and bridge, cosmetic, implant, surgical, and other advanced procedures Prepare surgical trays, instruments, materials, equipment, and treatment rooms Assist with extractions, implant procedures, and other surgical treatment based on experience and applicable credentials Maintain sterile technique and follow surgical infection-control protocols Review the schedule and patient records in advance to anticipate procedural needs Take diagnostic radiographs and support digital imaging and intraoral scanning Prepare anesthetic setups, impressions, temporary restorations, lab cases, and clinical materials Maintain accurate chart notes, treatment documentation, and patient records Provide postoperative instructions and patient education as directed by the dentist Monitor patients and support patient safety within the assistant's training, credentials, and state requirements Keep operatories clean, organized, stocked, and ready throughout the day Maintain instruments and equipment according to OSHA and infection-control standards Participate in the morning huddle and help maintain efficient patient and schedule flow Communicate important patient information clearly during clinical and administrative handoffs Patient Care and Teamwork Help patients feel calm, informed, and cared for before, during, and after treatment Remain composed and attentive during complex or stressful procedures Anticipate the needs of the dentist, patient, and clinical team Communicate professionally and respectfully with patients, teammates, and leadership Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and attention to detail Contribute to a collaborative and productive office culture Remain coachable, adaptable, and willing to learn new procedures and systems Qualifications TN Dental Assistant certification or registration required by applicable state regulations Previous chairside dental assisting experience Experience with four-handed dentistry Knowledge of sterilization, infection-control, and patient-safety requirements Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting Reliable attendance and punctuality Professional demeanor and strong attention to detail Highly Preferred Experience Chairside experience with oral surgery or surgical dental procedures Experience assisting with extractions, implants, bone grafting, or related procedures Experience preparing surgical instruments and maintaining sterile fields Experience with digital imaging, intraoral scanners, or CBCT technology Expanded Functions certification, if applicable Experience with dental practice-management software Experience supporting multiple doctors or a high-volume schedule Compensation and Benefits Competitive pay based on experience, certifications, and skill level Paid Time Off Paid holidays Health, vision, and life insurance Employee dental benefits Consistent full-time schedule No nights or weekends Schedule Current patient hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Specific scheduled days and hours will be discussed during the interview process for a 4-day clinical workweek.
