Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) - Pediatric Dentistry Building Smiles Pediatric Dentistry | Shelbyville, TN Building Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing team! We are building a fun, positive, and child-focused practice dedicated to providing exceptional care in a welcoming environment. We are looking for someone who is confident clinically, passionate about working with children, and excited to help shape a new pediatric dental office from the ground up.
Schedule:
This position will initially begin as a part-time role while our patient base continues to grow. As the practice ramps up, we anticipate transitioning this position into a full-time Monday-Friday schedule , offering an excellent opportunity to grow alongside our team and practice.
Pay:
Competitive hourly pay based on experience and qualifications (customize as needed)

Benefits package available based on employment status and practice offerings (customize before posting) What You'll Do Assist the doctor with restorative, surgical, and pediatric dental procedures Perform expanded functions permitted by Tennessee law and certification Prepare treatment rooms and maintain efficient clinical flow Support sterilization protocols and inventory management Communicate with children and parents in a calm, friendly, and professional manner Help create a positive, team-oriented environment Assist with training and organization as our practice continues to grow Who We're Looking For EFDA certification and experience preferred Current radiology certification, CPR certification, and all Tennessee requirements Strong clinical skills and attention to detail Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently Comfortable working with children and helping anxious patients feel at ease Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus Excited to be part of a growing, community-focused pediatric practice Preferred Qualifications Previous pediatric dental experience Leadership, startup, or new practice experience A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed How to Apply Please send your resume along with a brief introduction describing your dental experience and what you are looking for in your next opportunity. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
