Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support our mission to deliver exceptional dental services. We are a pediatric dental specialty office, pediatric experience is preferred but not required! Responsibilities Assist the doctor with chairside procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays , while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and radiation standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA policies. Obtain vital signs and medical history information from patients to support comprehensive care planning. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Coordinate patient flow by scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, dental instrument processing, and infection control procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Experience with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, impressions, and other clinical tools. Familiarity with EMR systems like Archy or Dentrix for efficient patient data management. Ability to perform dental sterilization procedures accurately while maintaining aseptic technique. Excellent communication skills for effective patient management and team collaboration within a general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environment. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry considerations and the ability to work compassionately with children in pediatrics-focused practices.
