Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained at all times. Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and other specialty treatments. Take dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology such as 3D scanners and digital radiography systems like Eaglesoft. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EMR systems), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures. Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans to promote optimal dental health. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, confirming appointments, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic productivity. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols and OSHA standards. Cross train on front office procedures, including answering phones, scheduling, patient payments, and insurance verification. Experience Must hold an active Dental Assisting License Hands-on experience with dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice. Experience taking X-rays Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. Certification or training in HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards is preferred.
