Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery treatments. Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management policies. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) using Open Dental or similar platforms, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions with professionalism and empathy. Support patient management through scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while adhering to infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered consistently. Welcome patients, prepare treatment rooms, and assist with other office activities. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry practices. Proficiency in Open Dental software is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, equipment operation, sterilization requirements, and dental instrument processing. Knowledge of infection prevention management, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines; certification in dental radiography is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to patients of all ages, including pediatrics. Familiarity with oral surgery techniques, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a team practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal clinical efficiency.
