Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including dental x-ray procedures and 3D scans, adhering to safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, maintaining aseptic technique and supporting efficient workflow. Take vital signs and medical history updates to assist in comprehensive patient care and ensure safety during procedures. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and treatment plans while maintaining excellent patient management software records. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, dental instruments, equipment, and sterilization procedures. Experience with dental x-ray techniques, medical imaging, and 3D scanner operation. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control standards for dental clinics. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to infection prevention policies. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with patients as a dental receptionist when needed and explain procedures clearly. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles, oral surgery protocols, endodontics procedures, prosthodontics basics, and general dentistry practices.
