Dental Assistant Little Boots Pediatric Dentistry Fort Worth, TX Job Details Part-time $18 - $24 an hour 21 hours ago Qualifications Vital signs Dental receptionist Patient assessment Pediatric dentistry Teaching Full Job Description The Dental Assistant performs duties such as: Assisting the pediatric dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays) Asking about the patient's medical history and weight and vitals Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Helping kids feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment Providing patients and parents with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling) Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g. toothbrushing, flossing and nutritional counseling) Assisting in front office duties such as answering the phone, scheduling patients, etc. Communicating with parents and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone) Keep operatories neat and orderly Making sure supplies are stocked at all times To ensure that no documents leave the practice premises with any clinical staff member, including associate doctor (ie.; clinical charts, health histories, patient information, etc.) Keeping your SDS Binder up-to-date To keep busy during down time with additional responsibilities To maintain clinical equipment To maintain a sterile and OSHA compliant environment To participate in CE courses To be friendly, encouraging and an active listener with patients and co-workers To help ensure the clinic runs in a timely, efficient manner
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
