Job Description

Part-Time Registered Dental Assistant Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dental practice on a part-time basis in Keller, TX. The ideal candidate is a team player who is committed to providing excellent patient care while supporting the dentist and maintaining an efficient, organized, and welcoming office environment. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Office hours vary based on patient appointments and will generally be between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The specific work schedule will be based on the practice's appointment needs. The Registered Dental Assistant will be responsible for providing quality chairside assistance, preparing treatment rooms, taking X-rays, maintaining sterilization and infection control standards, assisting with patient care, and supporting the dental team throughout daily clinical operations. Responsibilities Welcome and assist patients in a friendly and professional manner. Prepare patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures. Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and various dental treatments. Ensure patient comfort and provide reassurance throughout treatment. Take and process dental X-rays as directed by the dentist. Sterilize, disinfect, organize, and maintain dental instruments according to infection control protocols. Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and treatment rooms. Follow all applicable infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines. Provide patients with post-treatment instructions and general oral hygiene education. Assist with patient care plans and answer questions regarding treatment when appropriate. Maintain accurate, current, and confidential patient records. Review patient documentation for accuracy and completeness. Respond to patient questions and concerns with professionalism and excellent customer service. Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team to ensure an efficient office workflow. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment. Perform other dental assisting and clinical duties as needed. Qualifications Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential required. Current CPR certification required. Previous dental assisting experience or dental assisting externship experience preferred. Knowledge of dental terminology and basic dental procedures. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent patient service and chairside manner. Knowledge of sterilization and infection control procedures. Ability to take dental X-rays in accordance with applicable requirements. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Basic computer skills and ability to learn dental practice management software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced dental office.
