Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth clinical operations Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, accurately documenting medical imaging results in patient records Assist to manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Provide chairside assistance by managing dental instruments, materials, and supplies during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Help to educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote optimal dental health Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and dental sterilization procedures Requirements For Dental Assistant Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting or relevant internship experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry procedures Familiarity with Patient Management Software for accurate documentation Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners with proper safety protocols Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices within a clinical setting Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies rigorously while managing sensitive medical records
