Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery and endodontics dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and sterilized equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while ensuring adherence to dental x-ray safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as open dental software; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures aligned with dental terminology and healthcare guidelines. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments and ensuring all dental equipment is properly sterilized according to infection control standards. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a friendly liaison between patients and the clinical team. Requirements Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification as required by local regulations. Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Proficiency in EMR systems such as open Dental; familiarity with patient management software is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras (including 3D scanners), and other clinical tools efficiently. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal patient care delivery.
