Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Front Desk / Dental Assistant, where your energy and enthusiasm will help create a welcoming environment for patients and support the seamless operation of our dental practice. In this dual role, you will be the friendly face greeting patients, managing appointments, and ensuring accurate medical documentation, while also providing essential chairside assistance during various dental procedures. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, professional setting. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in both administrative and clinical aspects of dentistry. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify their information, and check in/out efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and reminders to optimize patient flow. Collect and update patient medical histories, vital signs, and insurance details while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for confidentiality. Assist dentists during procedures with chairside support, including passing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining aseptic technique. Take high-quality X-rays and operate 3D scanners or other medical imaging equipment as needed for accurate diagnosis. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas are sterile and organized according to OSHA standards. Support general dentistry procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and other specialty treatments by providing skilled dental assisting. Document procedures accurately in medical records, including medical coding and detailed notes on dental terminology and anatomy knowledge. Manage dental supplies inventory and ensure all equipment is functioning properly for efficient clinic operations. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in dental assisting and reception duties. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic is a plus. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic technique. Ability to take X-rays accurately; certification in radiography preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation standards. Experience with pediatric dentistry is highly desirable; familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and team members. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
