Our practice provides comprehensive family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, implants, clear aligners, and pediatric dentistry. Position Summary The Lead Registered Dental Assistant is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical flow of the office while providing chairside assistance during a wide variety of dental procedures. This individual will serve as a mentor to newer assistants, help establish clinical protocols, maintain OSHA and infection control compliance, and ensure every patient receives an exceptional experience. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in Dentrix , and CURVE comfortable working in both the front and back office, and capable of leading by example. Required QualificationsRequired Current Texas Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience Proficient in Dentrix Practice Management Software Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong leadership and organizational skills Comfortable assisting in all aspects of general dentistry Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to train and mentor novice dental assistants Willingness to assist in both clinical and front office responsibilities Current CPR/BLS Certification Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) Experience in pediatric dentistry Experience with oral surgery and implant procedures Familiarity with digital scanners (iTero, Medit, etc.) Experience with intraoral cameras and digital radiography Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership Lead and coordinate daily clinical operations Ensure operatories are prepared and running efficiently Maintain OSHA, CDC, and HIPAA compliance Monitor sterilization procedures and infection control protocols Maintain inventory and clinical supplies Clinical Assisting Chairside assisting for: Restorative dentistry Crown and bridge Endodontics Oral surgery Implant procedures Pediatric dentistry Extractions Denture and partial delivery Clear aligner procedures Take digital radiographs Capture intraoral photographs Perform digital impressions/scanning Prepare treatment rooms Sterilize instruments Prepare anesthetic and procedure trays Training & Mentorship Train newly hired dental assistants Coach team members on clinical protocols Assist with onboarding and workflow development Maintain consistency in clinical procedures Help improve efficiency throughout the practice Front Office Responsibilities Verify patient information Assist with patient check-in/check-out as needed Enter clinical notes in Dentrix Schedule appointments when necessary Coordinate with front office staff to maintain an efficient schedule Verify insurance information and assist with treatment coordination when needed Patient Care Deliver exceptional customer service Educate patients on oral hygiene and treatment plans Review post-operative instructions Maintain patient confidentiality Help create a welcoming, family-oriented environment What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Takes initiative without being asked Leads by example Has a positive attitude Enjoys teaching others Is dependable and punctual Maintains professionalism under pressure Is passionate about continuing education Wants to grow with a modern private practice Why Join Nu Smiles Family Dentistry?
