We are looking for an enthusiastic, kid-friendly Dental Assistant Extern who is ready to take their classroom knowledge and turn it into real-world, clinical expertise. Unlike many practices where externships are unpaid, we value your time and work. We provide a fully paid, supervised clinical experience at $8/hr on a predictable schedule designed to work around your availability. This is a fantastic "audition" opportunity—we are always looking for stellar externs to transition into permanent, full-time Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) roles upon graduation! What You Will Learn & Do (Under Direct Supervision)

Pediatric Chairside Assisting:

Learn the art of "tell-show-do" behavior management while assisting our dentists during exams, fillings, and pediatric restorative procedures.

Modern Dental Tech:

Gain hands-on exposure and training using CurveHero cloud-based dental software for chart updates and patient records.

Sterilization & Safety:

Master proper OSHA guidelines, instrument sterilization processes, and operatory turnover to maintain an immaculate environment.

Patient Comfort:

Welcome children and parents warmly, walk them to the chair, and help calm anxious young patients with a positive, friendly attitude.

Lab Work & Prep:

Assist with preparing dental materials, tray setups, and making kids feel excited about their dental visits. What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

Active Dental Assisting Student:

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited local San Antonio Dental Assistant program and ready to fulfill your school's official externship hours.

Predictable Availability:

Able to commit to a set schedule of a minimum of 4 hours per day .

Kid-Loving Personality:

You must have high energy, a warm smile, and infinite patience. Working with children requires a unique touch! Bilingual (English/Spanish): Highly preferred to help us seamlessly serve all of our San Antonio families.

Professional and Reliable:

Punctual, eager to learn, and ready to take proactive feedback from our clinical team.

Certifications:
