In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient comfort, and ensure smooth clinic operations. Your skills in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will help us uphold the highest standards of oral health care. We are a fee for service, private practice, owned by one of the doctors that works here. We are also a drama free environment, and we strive to keep a great culture for our work team. We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of clinical experience. Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, and surgery. Prepare treatment rooms (set-up and breakdown) with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are strictly followed. Take and develop dental X-rays and utilize advanced imaging tools such as 3D scanners to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. We currently use an iTero scanner. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records). We currently use Open Dental, but can train if applicant not familiar with this system. Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions in a clear, friendly manner. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and presenting treatment plans in the treatment room. Restock and keep a clean orderly environment conducive to good work. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support such as making temporary crowns. CPR certification is mandatory. Nitrous oxide monitoring certification is preferred. Strong knowledge of infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. A strong background in surgery. Experience with EMR systems such as Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners effectively. Understanding medical records management in a dental setting. Excellent communication skills as a dental assistant to coordinate patient flow smoothly while maintaining professionalism.
