Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Lead Registered Dental Assistant, where your expertise will elevate patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this vital role, you will oversee daily clinical activities, support dental assistants and hygienists, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Your leadership will help foster a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate chairside assisting during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Manage clinical workflows, ensuring efficient patient flow and adherence to infection prevention protocols. Supervise dental assisting staff, providing mentorship and training on sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and the proper use of dental equipment. Ensure accurate documentation of medical records, dental charts, and treatment notes using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Oversee dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and maintenance of dental equipment to uphold clinical confidentiality policies and infection control standards. Assist with patient management by taking vital signs, medical history updates, and explaining procedures using clear dental terminology. Support the implementation of new technologies like 3D scanners or advanced medical imaging tools to enhance diagnostic capabilities. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant with experience in a fast-paced dental clinic environment. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with patient management software is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and implant procedures. Expertise in dental x-ray techniques including digital radiography and 3D imaging; certification in X-ray or radiography required. Familiarity with infection prevention management, sterilization protocols, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards. Excellent communication skills for effective patient care coordination as a dental receptionist or front-office support when needed. Ability to lead a team with enthusiasm while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and safety compliance.
